What to Do If Your Plugin Update Fails

If a SuperSide Me update fails, it’s usually because there is a mismatch between your site URL and what’s registered as an authorized site URL in my (storefront) database.

tl;dr: If you are not able to download and update SuperSide Me, please try deactivating and then reactivating your license key. If that doesn’t work, contact me.

On the client (your) end, SuperSide Me authorizes your license one time. At that point, it updates my (storefront) database with the URL of the site where the license has been activated. Prior to version 2.0.0, if that URL changed (usually due to a site migration from staging to production), SuperSide Me had no way to know of the change, and the license still showed on your end as activated. When an update is released, the update failed because the URL calling in for the update didn’t match what was authorized.

As of version 2.0.0, your site will periodically “phone home” and make sure everything is in sync. I am not collecting any new data from your site(s).
